Welcome to the three new clubs, Hamilton, Koo Wee Rup and Richmond Union.
PRACTICE MATCHES FOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Practice games for players representing Victoria at the Perth Championships are being arranged. Unfortunately the match at Bundalaguah had to be cancelled due to forecast heavy rain but hopefully the game at Benalla on 19 September will proceed.
On 2 October, we are arranging 5 matches to accommodate all players going to Perth. Players will soon be surveyed regarding their availability.
In addition a practice session (with food and drinks provided) will be held at Centenary Park, Brady Road, Bentleigh East on Thursday morning, 27 October (10.00am) where shirts and caps will be presented to new players.
The concept of trialling competitive matches for players selected from 4 Zones was agreed at the Planning Conference in March. Since then, the clubs comprising each Zone have been decided and three dates set for these games; 30 October, 8 January and 19 February. The Zones are:
Zone 1: Benalla, Richmond, Sunbury/Macedon Ranges, Vic Country
Zone 2: ACS, Essendon, Geelong, Hamilton, Hobsons Bay
Zone 3: Glen Waverley /Yarra Valley, Mount Evelyn, Ringwood, Warrandyte
Zone 4: Bayside, Casey, Gippsland, Iona, Koo Wee Rup, Mornington

I am pleased to announce we have secured Major Sponsorships with the East Malvern branch of the Bendigo Bank and with Buffalo Sports. In addition, our first Gold sponsor – helloworld Belgrave- has just come on board. Club Delegates have been provided with information on how clubs can support our sponsors.
On 22 August, Club Delegates were informed of the marketing and sponsorship plan for this season and shown two new offerings from the Marketing branch.
A one page coloured ‘flyer’ has been prepared for distribution by Club Secretaries to all players. They are designed as a recruiting tool for clubs to hand out to potential players.
Second, a video prepared primarily by Neil King promoting VOSCA Over 60s cricket was shown and received wide spread acclaim. This video can now be viewed on the VOSCA website and VOSCA Facebook page and again you are encouraged to show it to potential players (and family and friends).

Good feedback was received about last year’s planner so we have developed one for the remainder of 2016 and 2017. It has been prepared as an attachment for ease of access.
Best wishes to all for the season ahead. I know the Executive Committee and all other office holders will be working diligently to ensure we offer members an efficient administration and a comprehensive and interesting program for 2016/17, both on and off the field.
